China-Finland Year of Winter Sports Closing Ceremony

China-Finland Year of Winter Sports Closing Ceremony will take place at Lappi Areena in Rovaniemi on 3 December 2019. First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Tuula Haatainen, Minister of Science and Culture Hanna Kosonen and Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China Sun Chunlan will be attending the celebrations.

On Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Antti Rinne and Vice Premier Sun Chunlan will hold bilateral talks in Kesäranta. Vice Premier Sun Chunlan will also meet President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö in Mäntyniemi on Wednesday.

The closing ceremony will bring together sports and the arts. At Lappi Areena, spectators will see a dragon and lion dance on ice, skating and skiing performances by both countries’ athletes, and musical performances by singers from the Chinese National Opera, members of YL Male Voice Choir and Solju, a Saami ensemble fusing many musical influences.

Minister of Science and Culture Hanna Kosonen and Chinese Vice Minister for Sports Gao Zhidan will be available to talk to the media on Monday, 2 December 2019 from 18.00 to 18.30 at Lappia Hall. At the media event, ministers will report on the results of the Year of Sports and on further plans for collaboration.
