Year-round studies in higher education
The key project improves the opportunities for year-round studies and the recognition of prior learning.
Higher education institutions will support equal opportunities and promote the completion of degrees within the target period at all degree levels. The institutions will provide for more flexible study possibilities and improve the recognition of prior learning. They will diversify student guidance and build up working life cooperation. Well-functioning career and recruitment services will support fast-pace graduation and employment. Higher education institutions will introduce national career monitoring.
The Ministry of Education and Culture supports measures by higher education institutions to improve, increase and diversify summer education, network learning and intensive courses. The provision of summer education will be monitored to determine the progress made in this respect. Support will be provided for the introduction of exam aquariums at all universities.
- Higher education institution-specific measures related to the objectives of the key project have been agreed in the performance agreements with the universities and universities of applied sciences.
- The Ministry of Education and Culture uses the special discretionary government transfers included in the development programme for higher education to support joint development projects of higher education institutions.
- To determine the areas that require development, an assessment will be carried out on the recognition of prior learning in each higher education institution.
