The national legislation of the following 17 countries have been included in the survey: Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, as well as Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.

Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances

The Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances was adopted on June 24, 2012. It deals with the intellectual property rights of performers in audiovisual performances. The Beijing Treaty shores up the rights of performers in audiovisual works, such as films, TV series or musicals. In practical terms, the treaty’s provisions provide actors, musicians, dancers and other performers in an audiovisual work the ability to be remunerated and enjoy better control over their work.
