Finland 100 centenary year

Suomi100 lippuFinland 100 Years. The year 2017 will mark Finland’s 100th anniversary as an independent state. The theme of the centenary year is ‘Together’.

The centenary is the most significant anniversary for the current generation of Finns, an anniversary that is celebrated all year long throughout Finland and also beyond Finland’s borders.

The centenary year provides opportunities to better understand the past, experience the jubilee together and set the course for Finland’s future success.

The centenary year is giving rise to events, experiences and a programme of activities that examine the history, present and future of Finland’s independence.

While overall responsibility for putting the programme together rests with the ‘Finland 100 Years’ organisation established in the Prime Minister’s Office.
